Does the goal always justify the means? The continuous designation of Brussels as “capital” has been instrumental in the construction of its urban landscape. Following huge demolitions, several architectural and urban interventions shaped the radical “image of the capital” producing significant modifications of its territory. Despite most of these interventions reproduced an idea of future according to their time, ironically, they already expired.
